Rooftop solar in Kishanganj, Purnia and Katihar

Mills, cold stores, hospitals, schools and homes in north-east Bihar.

Kishanganj is closer to our Siliguri store than most of West Bengal, but Bihar’s rules are different. Solarverse Solutions designs and installs rooftop solar across Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar and Araria as an authorised Waaree channel partner, sized to NBPDCL’s billing and Bihar’s time-of-day tariff.

Local know-how

What is different about Kishanganj & Purnia

Time-of-day changes the value

Since 1 April 2026 most Bihar connections above 10 kW, and all smart meters, are billed by time of day: 9 am–5 pm at 80% of the normal rate, 5–11 pm at 120%. Solar units land in the cheaper window.

Mills, dryers and cold stores

Rice and maize mills, makhana processing and cold stores use most of their power by day in season. We size to the units solar can reach.

Bihar’s net metering

From 1 kWp up to your sanctioned load under the BERC 2018 regulations. Unadjusted surplus lapses at the end of the settlement period, so we size to your yearly use.

Flood-season planning

Low-lying sites near the Mahananda and the Kosi see monsoon flooding. Inverters, boxes and earth-pit covers go above the flood line.

Questions

Asked in Kishanganj & Purnia

Do you install rooftop solar in Kishanganj and Purnia?

Yes. Kishanganj is next door to our Siliguri store, and we work across Purnia, Katihar and Araria too. We survey, design, install, file the NBPDCL net-metering papers and maintain the plant.

How does Bihar’s time-of-day tariff affect solar?

On time-of-day billing, units used from 9 am to 5 pm are billed at 80% of the normal rate, so each solar unit saves a little less than a flat-rate unit would. Our calculator allows for it when you choose Bihar.

Is PM Surya Ghar available in Bihar?

Yes. Homes in Bihar can claim central assistance on DCR panels up to the 3 kW level, the same as in West Bengal. We handle the application and the claim.
