Rooftop solar in Gangtok and Sikkim

Homes, homestays, hotels and industry. Every hill roof simulated.

Sikkim has its own regulator, its own tariff and its own rule for homestays. Solarverse Solutions designs and installs rooftop, hybrid and off-grid solar across Sikkim from Sevoke Road, Siliguri, as an authorised Waaree channel partner, and simulates every hill roof before quoting a number.

What is different about Gangtok & Sikkim

Homestays: a tariff reason to go solar

Sikkim’s 2026–27 tariff order bills homestays in urban areas at domestic rates where a rooftop solar plant of 2 kWp or more is installed. We size the plant and file the paperwork.

Industry in the Rangpo belt

Units along the Rangpo–Majitar–Singtam stretch run long daytime shifts, a good match for solar. On HT time-of-day connections, Sikkim sets surplus off against the peak blocks too.

Hybrid and off-grid

Where the line is long or unreliable, a hybrid plant with lithium batteries keeps critical loads running; where there is no line, an off-grid plant does the whole job.

Every hill roof simulated

Slope, aspect, the ridge across the valley and monsoon cloud change output from one roof to the next, so we simulate each site.

Questions

Asked in Gangtok & Sikkim

Do homestays in Sikkim pay a lower tariff with rooftop solar?

In urban areas, yes. Sikkim’s tariff order for 2026–27 applies domestic rates to homestays in urban areas where a rooftop solar plant of 2 kWp or more is installed. Check your connection category with us before sizing the plant.

Is net metering available in Sikkim?

Yes, under the SSERC (Grid Interactive Solar PV Systems) Regulations, 2021. Group and virtual net metering are also allowed for plants from 1 to 500 kWp under the Commission’s 2023 guidelines, useful when one roof should serve several connections.

Does PM Surya Ghar apply in Sikkim?

Yes. Sikkim is a special-category state, so central assistance for homes is about 10% higher than in West Bengal. Panels must be DCR. See how the subsidy works.
